Forseven is revolutionizing the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices. We are seeking a Vehicle Mass Attribute Lead to join our highly skilled and Vehicle Performance team.

The role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of our offices where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

You will be responsible for ensuring mass targets are in place that support the product requirements and to ensure a robust plan to achieve these targets is in place, including the ability to accurately measure our status against these targets. This applies to vehicle mass, center of gravity and moment of inertia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting vehicle level mass targets that support the attribute targets as per the Product Direction Letter
  • Setting commodity & system level mass targets to cascade to the commodity teams
  • Benchmarking competitor data to ensure targets are valid and competitive in the marketplace
  • Setting the vehicle mass limits for certification, such as Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWRs)
  • Cascade of vehicle level mass data into design functions, including masses for different loading conditions, mass distributions and vehicle moments of inertia
  • Regular reporting of mass status and plan to achieve targets to senior leadership, taking accountability for the attribute requirements
  • Leading reviews with commodity teams to ensure accurate and robust status reporting and aligned risk & opportunity tracking
  • Working with other attribute teams to ensure the impact of the latest mass status on the customer is understood · Working cross functionally with the Engineering Data Management (EDM) team to improve the tools and processes for mass properties calculation and mass reporting
  • Ensuring plans are in place for physical validation through part and vehicle weighing and leading investigations into unexpected results
  • Working with vehicle homologation to ensure all market and legal requirements relating to mass (including those which support other attributes) are understood and captured within the target setting process

About the Role:

  • Vehicle Mass Attribute Experience in automotive industry
  • Experience in including target setting, status reporting and calculation of vehicles masses for different loading conditions
  • Strong team player, able to work independently and cross functionally to find solutions to problems
  • Excellent presentation skills, able to visually demonstrate problems and solutions and articulate them to wide range of audiences
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Able to extract mass data and information from CAD (we use Catia V5)
  • Knowledge of mass requirements for vehicle homologation (including those contained in other attributes)
