About the Role:
UKCIL Ltd is seeking a skilled Personal Care Specialist to provide complex care support to a 14-year-old boy with autism in Sacriston, Durham. This role involves delivering overnight and day respite care, promoting the child's independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 20 hours of overnight respite care every fortnight, working in a 2:1 carer ratio.
- Provide 6 hours of day respite support per week during school holidays, also in a 2:1 carer ratio.
- Support the child with personal care and toileting needs.
- Promote OT-based activities and provide individualized interaction and sensory stimulation.
Requirements:
- Desirable: previous experience working with children with autism.
- Essential: valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Required: enhanced DBS check, with the cost covered by the employer.
Salary and Benefits:
The hourly rate for this position is £12, negotiable for self-employed Personal Assistants. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience while making a positive impact on the life of a young person with autism.
