Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Clinical Hand Specialist to join our team at the Hospital of St Johns and St Elizabeth. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic environment, providing expert hand care services to patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with complex hand and plastic surgery conditions. You will have the autonomy to make recommendations to colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team, based on your advanced knowledge and practical skills.

Your Responsibilities:
  • To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities in line with the standards of the Hospital
  • To have overall accountability for the planning and management of own complex and specialised caseload of patients
  • To be highly competent in assessing a wide range of orthopaedic hand and plastic surgery conditions based on advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present
  • To utilise advanced clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based knowledge to assess and diagnose patients and implement appropriate management plans as an autonomous practitioner
  • To demonstrate highly developed dexterity, coordination, and palpation skills for the assessment and treatment of patients
  • To maintain patient documentation, records, and accurate statistical information to reflect the care provided and to meet professional and hospital standards as well as local and national guidelines
