Job Title: Machinist Fabrication Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist Fabrication Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating lathe and milling machines, as well as performing welding and fabricating tasks using MIG and TIG welding plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out day-to-day fabrication of parts, including small brackets, oil catch tanks, propshaft flanges, and parts for large test rigs.
  • Operate lathe and milling machines to produce high-quality parts.
  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including aluminum and steel.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
  • Modify and rework vehicle body shells as required.
  • Record completed work tickets to detail work carried out.
  • Liaise with engineering staff to discuss work requests and priorities.
Requirements
  • Formal fabrication or welding qualifications are advantageous.
  • Completed relevant apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in general turning and milling, as well as welding (TIG, MIG) including aluminum.
  • Good problem-solving and solution-finding skills.
  • Good general IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Flexible, self-driven, and reliable.
  • Good communicator.
  • Knowledge of CNC-based machinery is an advantage.
  • Experience with prototype and one-off work.
  • Automotive experience.
  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety regulations.
