About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at UTAC. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for operating various metalwork techniques, including lathe and milling machine operations, welding, and fabricating parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate lathe and milling machines to produce high-quality parts
  • Perform welding and fabricating tasks using MIG and TIG welding plants
  • Support all departments throughout the site with fabrication and metalwork services
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and within agreed times
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to H&S regulations
Requirements
  • Formal fabrication or welding qualifications advantageous
  • Completed relevant apprenticeship
  • Experience in General Turning and milling
  • Welding (TIG, MIG) including aluminum
  • Good problem-solving and solution-finding skills
  • Good general IT skills (including MS Word and Excel)
  • Flexible, self-driven, and reliable
  • Good communicator
  • Knowledge of CNC-based machinery an advantage
  • Experience with prototype and one-off work
  • Automotive experience
  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety regulations
