Job Title: Manual Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at UTAC, a leading international group in digital and sustainable mobility. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for operating various metalwork techniques, including lathe and milling machines, to support all departments throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out day-to-day fabrication of parts, including small brackets, oil catch tanks, propshaft flanges, and parts for large test rigs.
  • Operate lathe and milling machines to produce high-quality components.
  • Weld using various techniques, including aluminum and steel.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
  • Modify and rework vehicle body shells as required.
  • Record completed work tickets to detail work carried out.
  • Liaise with engineering staff to discuss work requests and priorities.
Requirements:
  • Formal fabrication or welding qualifications are advantageous.
  • Completed relevant apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in general turning and milling.
  • Welding skills, including TIG and MIG, with a focus on aluminum.
  • Good problem-solving and solution-finding skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
