Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to a student with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to understand the student's specific needs and develop a personalized learning plan.
  • Implement and adapt educational strategies to support the student's individual learning requirements.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons.
  • Foster positive relationships with the student, promoting their well-being and engagement.
  • Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies tailored to the student's needs.
  • Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.
  • Contribute to the overall positive and inclusive atmosphere of the school.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in providing 1:1 support to students with SEN, is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
  • Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team.
