We are seeking a highly skilled Transformation Engineer to join our team at Next Gate Tech. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable and reliable applications in product-led environments that are data-intensive and/or have strong exposure to AI/ML technologies.

About the Role

In this role, you will make strategic architectural decisions, develop scalable software systems, and guide the technical direction for our engineers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, mentor others, and ensure that our technical objectives align with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop: Build and improve the core systems that power our SaaS solution, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Technical Leadership: Act as a technical 'beacon', making crucial architectural and technology decisions to advance our products. Guide the engineering team and align them on the technical direction. Execute the technical roadmap in collaboration with the CTO and CPO, ensuring alignment with the overall company vision and product strategy
  • Lead by Example: Drive best practices and advance key development initiatives by actively contributing to software development, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Client, and Operations to deliver innovative, high-quality products
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Mentor engineers and share knowledge to elevate technical expertise across teams. Encourage collaboration and serve as a role model for thoughtful, scalable engineering
  • Optimization & Reliability: Continuously optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency within our infrastructure, and advocate for best practices around observability and automation
  • Process Optimization: Implement and refine engineering processes, including testing, and code reviews, ensuring continuous improvement and efficient delivery

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, preferably within high-growth startups or scale-up, product-led environments that are data-intensive and/or have strong exposure to AI/ML technologies
  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in system design, data architecture, cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), and building scalable distributed systems. Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Rust) and exposure to the application of AI technologies
  • Problem Solving: Ability to break down complex problems and develop strategic solutions that balance long-term goals with immediate needs
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams across the organization
