About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Area Maintenance Manager to join our Housing Operations team at Southampton City Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contractors and direct labour to deliver void repairs and other maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage contractors and direct labour to deliver void repairs and other maintenance projects
  • Oversee the making safe of regeneration properties
  • Set up and chair weekly/monthly performance meetings with contractors
  • Deliver void repairs in tight timescales
  • Ensure CDM compliance and health and safety management
  • Project programming, finance, and delivery
  • Schedule sub-contractors to meet demand
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced maintenance manager with a strong background in housing operations. You will have a HNC/NVQ3 or equivalent education, with IOSH level 3 or significant experience in construction/management or relevant experience in managing property maintenance operations.

You will have management experience with a practical knowledge of the construction/property maintenance industry and a detailed understanding of providing an effective responsive and planned maintenance and void property service.

Working Arrangements

This role is based at Nursling Depot, Unit 5 Mauretania Road, Nursling SO16 0YS. You will be required to work Monday to Thursday, 7 hours a day, and will need to have access to a car for this role.
