Job Overview

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly experienced Principal Pharmacist to lead the development and implementation of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) across the Trust.

As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will work closely with the Cancer Pharmacist team to facilitate the implementation and development of the CAR-T service and collaborate with pharmacy teams across the Trust to ensure the safe and effective delivery of ATMPs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and motivated pharmacist to lead the development of models of care for the use of ATMPs, working with stakeholders and clinical teams to ensure the safe and effective use of cell, gene, and tissue products.

Main Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of ATMP clinical pharmacy services across the Trust, working closely with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist and the pharmacy leadership team.

Provide expert leadership, advice, and guidance on the safe use of ATMPs, ensuring appropriate pharmacy governance and oversight arrangements are in place.

Act as the main point of contact for ATMP queries and provide training and supervision to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.

Requirements

Postgraduate clinical qualification or equivalent experience, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and a member of a professional organization such as the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).

Experience of working with ATMPs/ATIMPs in clinical areas and associated governance mechanisms required for safe management.

Proven ability to influence beyond professional boundaries and provide highly complex information on clinical pharmacy issues to healthcare professionals at senior levels.
