About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and responsible Cover Supervisor to provide general cover, classroom supervision, and student support at a secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, starting as soon as possible.

The school is a large, well-established mainstream secondary school that is part of a multi-academy trust. Staff enjoy working there, and the feedback from staff is that it is a wonderful place to work with great colleagues and a supportive senior team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a productive and orderly learning environment for students aged 11-16 when their regular teacher is unavailable.
  • Supervise whole classes across various subjects when teachers are absent and follow lesson plans left by teachers to facilitate activities and assist students.
  • Support students in completing tasks and promote positive behavior in the classroom.
Requirements
  • Must be 21 and over.
  • Have experience in UK-based schools or other UK-based employment working with students aged 11-16.
  • Drivers would be preferred, although not essential.
  • Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Have excellent behavior management and classroom control skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, writing, and speaking.
