About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Support Engineer to join our team in London on a contractual basis.

Job Overview: As a Data Centre Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and functionality of our data centre infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and providing support to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintaining 24x7x365 shift patterns, including 4 days on and 4 days off, and 4 nights on and 4 nights off
  2. Change control management and incident resolution
  3. Management and tracking of DC assets, supervision and escorting of 3rd Party Vendors
  4. Planning and implementation of IT hardware installations, adhering to strict Data Centre Standards
  5. Updating all relevant documentation and inventories
  6. Compliance with Client Health & Safety procedures, Manufacturers and Client's Quality Standards, and Client's and Support Services approved processes

Task Description:

  1. Maintenance of Data Centre toolsets, management and governance over the DC
  2. Work closely with facilities providers to maximise energy efficiency savings
  3. Successful day-to-day running of the Data Centre, including installations, decommissions, changes and maintenance
  4. Data Centre related service improvement projects
  5. Racking, stacking, moves, changes, decommissioning, patching
  6. Managing complex inter-rack/room cable infrastructure

Requirements:

  1. Experience of working in high-risk environments and Data Centres
  2. Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards
  3. ServiceNow or other ticketing system experience
  4. Attention to detail and proactive approach
  5. Sound Knowledge of Infrastructure Technologies & Networking Concepts
  6. Competent in MS Office and Helpdesk/Service Delivery Applications
  7. Able to work under pressure and unsupervised
  8. Flexible approach to shift patterns
  9. Ability to communicate clearly, at all levels
  10. Strong organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
