We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Salaried General Practitioner to join our team at Somerset Gardens Family Health Care Centre.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload and providing high-quality patient care in a primary care setting. This will involve undertaking a wide range of clinical duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and home visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of patients and provide high-quality patient care
  • Undertake a wide range of clinical duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and home visits
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
  • Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Develop care plans for patients in consultation with them and in line with current Practice disease management protocols
  • Provide counselling and health education to patients
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
  • Collect data for audit purposes
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
  • Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Leadership qualities
  • Team player
  • Interest in bigger picture of General Practice PCT and PBC
  • Medical Degree
  • MRCGP
  • Post Graduate qualification in additional GPWSI
  • Broad range of clinical experience in primary or secondary care
  • Exposure to management practices
  • Experience of managing and maintaining high standards of clinical care
