Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner

Job Summary:

The Somerset Gardens Family Health Care Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Salaried General Practitioner to join our team. As a Salaried General Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload and providing high-quality patient care in a primary care setting.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols.
  • Provide counselling and health education.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

About Us:

The Somerset Gardens Family Health Care Centre is a purpose-built modern primary care centre in East Haringey. We are a well-functioning partnership that provides general medical services through a PMS contract with NHS Haringey to around 14,000 patients in the surrounding area.

  • Leadership qualities.
  • Team player.
  • Interest in the bigger picture of General Practice PCT and PBC.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree.
  • MRCGP.

Experience:

  • A broad range of clinical experience in primary or secondary care.
  • Exposure to management practices.
  • Experience of managing and maintaining high standards of clinical care.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with non-clinical areas QOF and Enhanced Services.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • IT literate.
  • Ability to interpret and embrace imposed change in a positive way.
