Assistant Director

We are working with a food manufacturing business based in Newcastle who has an opening for an Assistant Director. This role involves managing the shift-based engineering teams operating on a continental shift pattern and overseeing engineering team leaders.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage engineering permits to works, including contractor control and monitoring when applicable.
- Ensure PPMs are completed to a high standard using the Shire system for accurate planning and tracking.
- Challenge and improve PPM with the shift teams.
- Develop the knowledge of the shift teams and call upon functional support from the wider Engineering team.
- Develop relationships with shift leaders and production managers/leaders in the running and reporting of the shift.
- Support the engineering manager by developing and ensuring compliance to both engineering quality and safety standards.
- Develop the training matrix for shift leaders and shift engineering teams.
- Lead the engineering teams to take ownership and responsibility for tool box audits, workshop standards, and compliance to all quality system audits.
- FMCG exposure in particular food manufacturing.
- Electrical & Mechanical process.
- People management.
