We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our Disaster Recovery and Investigations (DRI) Recovery team within Europe. As a key member of Amazon's Global Realty (GR) Risk Operations & Resilience (ROR) organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals who work closely with site leadership teams to drive a streamlined response and oversee physical recovery from escalations and incidents impacting our real estate assets.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and deploy your team through rotational assignments, providing field-based leadership of damage assessments, repair plans, and recovery timelines for damaged buildings, equipment, and inventory.
- Develop and execute a recovery plan for damaged assets with target recovery timelines that follow the critical path.
- Lead your team through the collection and reporting of key metrics throughout each recovery.
- Identify and coordinate disaster recovery vendors.
- Lead or participate in after-action reviews, drawing insights from key learnings and metrics to improve response efforts.
- Implement operational safety standards, ensuring effective partnership with local and regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS).
- Coordinate personal protective equipment (PPE) training and resources for DRI members. Work closely with Operations, Loss Prevention, Risk Management, and WHS on recoveries.
The mission of DRI is to support Operations with reestablishing normal business functions as quickly and safely as possible during and following a disaster, while mitigating impact and disruption to our people, customers, and the community. We are the bridge between strategic plans and tactical execution, master problem-solvers who strike the right balance of time, cost, and quality in guiding recovery decisions.
We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a degree and a proven track record in managing physical repairs or remediation for fires, floods, hurricanes, or other disasters impacting commercial/industrial buildings, assets, and/or key infrastructure. Experience as a Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer/Architect or similar in commercial construction experience is also required. People Management experience, with a record of proven leadership, is essential.
Preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of design and repair practices of commercial buildings, critical building systems, and real estate infrastructure, as well as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar with ability to set timelines, milestones, and track toward completion within a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
