About This Role

As a Data Analytics Financial Crime Specialist at Nationwide Building Society, you will play a critical part in helping us achieve our purpose of 'Banking - but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society.'

  • Liaise with Financial Crime stakeholders to identify efficiency and effectiveness use cases, connecting them with innovative software solutions.
  • Identify emerging and innovative technology solutions to improve functional, reporting, intelligence, and analytics capabilities.
  • Support the development of business cases to drive forward change and relevant documentation within governance frameworks.
  • Work alongside data quality and governance specialists to maximize internal and external data usage and monitoring.
  • Monitor areas of innovation in the financial services industry for proactive financial crime risk identification and suitability for implementation.
About You
  • Experience in a relevant role, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle open-ended challenges.
  • Proven technical and analytical skills, particularly in SQL and data analytics.
  • Working knowledge of financial crimes systems, including KYC, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, and Analytics.
  • A questioning mindset, with the ability to lead activities focused on understanding current activities and improving processes.
  • Collaborative and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to summarize information for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with technologies like SAS, SQL, Databricks, Python, or Power platform.
Why Choose Us?
