Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our team on a temporary contract. As an Asset Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of surveying duties across our diverse portfolio of properties, including residential stock, corporate assets, and non-housing properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surveying and Evaluation: Conduct thorough surveys of our properties to evaluate and diagnose what work is required, assess the best options to carry out the work, and issue repairs or prepare specifications as necessary.
  • Asset Management: Ensure accurate stock data information, assess the condition of assets, identify building defects, and assess the quality of work undertaken.
  • Project Management: Manage delegated project budgets to ensure accountable expenditure and demonstrate value for money.
  • Contract Management: Raise repairs, procure and manage contractors providing repairs and maintenance services, ensuring compliance with contracts.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant building surveying or construction-related subject.
  • Experience: Relevant experience of surveying properties in a repairs environment.
  • Knowledge: Building-related legislation, contract law, and guidance, including the Building Regulations, Planning Law, Party Wall Act, Fire Safety, Electrical Inspections, Gas Installations, JCT, and NEC contracts.
  • Skills: Practical surveying skills, including recording stock data, raising repairs, and preparing specifications for repairs or planned maintenance schemes.
