NHS Healthcare Support Worker

This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals to develop a career in the NHS as a Health Care Support Worker at Medway Hospital NHS Trust.
We have multiple positions available across the Trust for applicants without hospital experience but with care experience either caring for family members or working in social care. Our team provides training and support to obtain your Care Certificate, which is nationally recognized.
You will be responsible for providing support and assistance to professionals in implementing care plans for individual patients. This includes ensuring patients receive high-quality clinical care and a good patient experience.
We value our staff and offer opportunities to work in different settings. The successful post holders will be expected to work in collaboration with our management team to ensure high-quality care is delivered to our patients.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties to deliver agreed plans of care.
- Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
- Ensure patients receive high-quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs, and doctrines.
- Recognize and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals.
- Act as an advocate for patients within the ward/department, to ensure a patient-oriented approach to the delivery of care.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Working or life experience as a carer.
- Understanding the requirements of patient confidentiality.
- Some knowledge of manual handling of patients, using lifting aids.
- Basic understanding of the NHS.
- Good written and oral communication.
- Ability to communicate with the general public.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow clear instructions and feedback to senior staff.
Estimated Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum.
