About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our team at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, part of the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Clinical and Chartered Psychologists to contribute to the delivery of psychology alongside a full Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). The successful applicant will be involved in assisting with the provision of tailored psychological care to young adults living with type 2 diabetes and multiple long-term conditions.

The role will focus on delivering a holistic and person-centered intervention as part of the M3 programme, a NIHR-funded research initiative aiming to develop and test a multi-factorial intervention in adults with early-onset type 2 diabetes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the provision of tailored psychological care to young adults living with type 2 diabetes and multiple long-term conditions.
  • Work closely with Clinical and Chartered Psychologists to contribute to the delivery of psychology alongside a full MDT.
  • Attend MDT meetings and contribute to clinical audit and research-related tasks such as grant writing and dissemination.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology.
  • Experience working with people with chronic health conditions.
  • Experience of therapeutic work in a relevant area to the post.
Salary

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
