We are seeking an experienced senior academic researcher to lead our research programmes on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at Imperial College London.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally recognised group of academics carrying out cutting-edge research to identify novel therapeutic approaches to treating progressive MS.

You will set up a competitive, well-funded, programme of research that applies the latest functional genomics technologies to increase understanding of the mechanisms driving the accumulation of disability in MS and the identification of new drug targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a research programme in MS, focusing on the use of post-mortem human MS tissues.
  • Establish international collaborative research programmes in neuroimmunology and neuropathology of MS.
  • Attract substantial and sustainable research funding to support your research programme.

Requirements
  • An international reputation in MS research and an extensive track record in the use of human tissues.
  • Experience in developing international collaborative research programmes in neuroimmunology and neuropathology of MS.
  • A significant track record in attracting substantial and sustainable research funding.
