Job Description

Job Title: Senior Lecturer in Cellular Neuropathology

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced senior academic researcher to lead our research programmes on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in MS research and a proven track record in the use of human tissues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a competitive research programme in MS, applying the latest functional genomics technologies to increase understanding of the mechanisms driving disability in MS and identify new drug targets.
  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training in neuropathology and neuroscience.
  • Establish and maintain international collaborative research programmes in neuroimmunology and neuropathology of MS.
  • Attract and manage substantial and sustainable research funding.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field and a strong track record of research experience in MS.
  • International reputation in MS research and expertise in the use of human tissues.
  • Experience in leading research programmes and managing research funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
