Job Title: Support Worker

Central Recruitment Services Ltd is currently recruiting for Support Workers to work in various locations across London on an ad hoc basis.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide an effective, high-quality support service to address the presenting needs of residents in a busy hostel housing men and women with complex and enduring needs in relation to homelessness, substance misuse, and related issues.

You will work in various shift patterns, including earlies, lates, waking nights, and sleep-ins, and be required to provide day-to-day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the residents, and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to residents with complex needs, including those with substance misuse or mental health issues.
  • Work in various shift patterns, including earlies, lates, waking nights, and sleep-ins.
  • Provide day-to-day shift cover to support the aims of the project and safeguard residents.
  • Work within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.
Requirements
  • At least 12 months' paid experience of working with homeless adults who have a variety of additional needs, including substance misuse or mental health needs.
  • Ability to cope with customers who display challenging behaviour and an understanding of the risks associated with specific service user groups.
  • Flexibility to work with clients who have a low level of engagement with the service.
  • Current valid right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum 12 months' of paid experience in a front-line social care role within the last 3 years.
  • Fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50).
  • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process.
