Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Solutions Architect to join our team at the NHS Business Services Authority. As a key member of our architecture team, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Estimation and Analysis: Provide high-quality cost estimation for internal and external business cases and assessments.
  2. Technical Authority: Lead on investigative analysis within multidisciplinary teams, providing technical authority and making credible and practical technical decisions.
  3. Capacity and Performance Improvement: Proactively devise and manage initiatives to deliver capacity, performance, and system availability improvements.
  4. Design and Communication: Translate designs to support user-friendly processes and systems, and communicate this across various stakeholders.
  5. Good Practices and Quality Assurance: Identify and share good practices, participate in relevant communities of practice, and contribute to quality assurance reviews.
  6. Resource and Training Planning: Develop the architectural team's resource and training plans, and set standards expected in workforce management.
  7. Recruitment and Selection: Undertake recruitment and selection in line with organisational processes, and participate in the implementation and delivery of initiatives to secure suitable resources.
  8. Line Management: Line manage the Architecture team, including agreement of leave, reporting of absence, and assigning resources to specific projects.
  9. Development Plans: Create and implement development plans for the Architecture team, including the creation, monitoring, and delivery of career pathways.
  10. Deputisation: Deputise for the Enterprise Architect in specified times of absence, leave, reporting, or working on specific projects.
  11. Budget Management: Contribute to budget management processes, and serve as budget manager for the architecture team.
  12. Strategic Procurement: Lead on strategic procurement of hardware and software, including selecting suppliers and accountability for delivery of quality outputs.
  13. Performance Monitoring: Maintain an awareness of agreed service levels, KPIs, and standards within the team, and review own performance and adapt own approach to maximise delivery.
  14. Workforce Planning: Input into workforce planning, ensuring required operational commitments are fully met, business change is estimated, prioritised, and delivered.
  15. Approaches and Strategies: Manage and input into the development and implementation of approaches, strategies, standards, practices, and policies across the team.
  16. Architectural Input: Provide architectural input into the creation of high-quality functional and non-functional requirements.
  17. Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and engage teams to deliver multiple strands of work, including continuous improvement, project-related work, and operational tasks.
