About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Secretary to join our Clinical Administration Secretarial Team within Cardiology at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our clinicians in delivering excellence, providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe clinical correspondence and add patients to the waiting list
  • Input data into relevant patient systems
  • Manage and prioritize duties, working independently or as part of a team
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality
  • Provide administrative support, including diary management, minute taking, and room bookings
  • Develop knowledge of administrative systems and patient information systems
Requirements
  • Keyboard skills to RSA Level 2/3 or equivalent
  • English and Maths (grade 4-9)
  • European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Previous experience of using Microsoft Office Applications
  • Knowledge of secretarial or administrative procedures and systems
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • Previous experience of audio-typing
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information to colleagues, patients, and relatives
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail in written and electronic communication and information storage
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality secretarial and administrative support
