Job Title: Senior BDM - Commercial Real Estate

Our client, a leading Challenger Bank, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Development Manager to join their team in Sheffield/South Yorkshire. As a key member of the commercial real estate lending team, you will be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities, building relationships with clients and intermediaries, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy for the region, working closely with the Regional Director to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
  • Identify and develop sales opportunities from new to bank customers and brokers, ensuring maximum profitability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Promote, identify, qualify, and pass on leads to other bank teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Ensure all paperwork is obtained, facts declared, and due diligence is completed in line with bank requirements, before submitting quality applications to Credit to support new proposals.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Operations Team to effectively onboard and drawdown deals for new to bank clients, retaining overall responsibility for all conditions for a loan until drawdown has occurred.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication links with all relevant departments and bank staff to identify sales opportunities, increased areas of risk, or process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and annual review activity, preparing regular forecasts to enable effective forward planning.
  • Encourage enrolment of new customers in customer satisfaction surveys to identify scope for improvements in product quality and service delivery.
  • Maintain a high level of market awareness, monitoring the sales performance of competitors to ensure the bank maintains and develops its competitive position, identifying opportunities for new products or product enhancement as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of sales and marketing literature and associated documents to improve the marketing of the bank and its products and services.
Requirements:
  • A proven record of success in business development and sales, preferably in a related industry.
  • An understanding of the relevant rules under the financial services acts.
  • A high level of financial and commercial awareness, including credit analysis.
  • Excellent sales and interpersonal skills.
  • Impressive record of achieving targets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
