We are seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to join our team at New Forest Care Ltd. As a key player in our mission to streamline and green our fleet operations, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our fleet management.


The successful candidate will oversee and optimise a diverse fleet of cars and vans, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations. This includes sourcing and procuring new vehicles, managing their disposal, and maintaining high service levels across the business.


In this role, you will be responsible for budget management, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and reporting. You will also lead a team of drivers, proposing innovative solutions to reduce our carbon footprint and improve operational efficiency.


To be successful in this position, you will need excellent leadership skills, strong analytical abilities, and experience in fleet management. You will also be required to maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, services, faults, and driver behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the fleet operates in line with all relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Maintain and optimise the fleet budget, focusing on cost efficiency.
  • Analyse fleet data and provide actionable reports to inform strategic decisions.
  • Predict ongoing demand for cars and vans to meet business needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements with suppliers, seeking the best value vehicles.
  • Analyse the fleet's carbon footprint and propose opportunities to integrate greener vehicles.
  • Run tenders, evaluate bids, and make commercially sound recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and new suppliers.
  • Manage a rolling renewal program for vehicle replacement and disposal.
  • Oversee the on/off hire process, ensuring damages/losses are recovered.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to manage fuel cards and maintain accurate records.
  • Address driver queries promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor fleet utilisation and ensure trackers are fitted on all vehicles.
  • Manage interactions with our insurance provider to handle claims efficiently and minimise losses.
  • Ensure timely vehicle maintenance and servicing to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle inspections, services, faults, and driver behaviours.


Environmental Responsibilities

You will conduct thorough risk assessments for individuals and ensure compliance with all general health and safety protocols. This involves a detailed evaluation of potential hazards, implementing measures to mitigate risks, and documenting your findings.
