Job Overview

An Early Childhood Educator plays a vital role in the development and education of young children. This position involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.

About the Role

This dynamic and multifaceted role requires a blend of teaching, caregiving, and administrative skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing age-appropriate educational programs that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • Creating daily and weekly activity plans that cater to the developmental needs and interests of the children.
  • Incorporating play-based learning activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children in their care.
  • Providing close supervision during activities, meals, and rest times.
  • Attending to the individual needs of each child, including feeding, diapering, and comforting.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Previous experience in a long day care setting is preferred.

Salary and Benefits
