Job Title: Operational Risk Support Manager - Resilience Expert

Location: Hybrid

Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Support Manager to join our team at Acorn Insurance & Financial Services LTD. As a key member of our operational resilience team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of our business services and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance Operational Resilience Framework: Continuously improve and ensure the framework is fully embedded across the organization.
  • Develop Relationships: Foster strong relationships with functional business areas to identify, map, and set impact tolerances for all Important Business Services.
  • Quality Investigations: Conduct investigations with a focus on performance improvement and risk reduction, aligning with Quality Management System requirements and governing regulations.
  • Operational Resilience Planning: Liaise with IBS owners to develop effective and documented Operational Resilience and Business Continuity plans.
  • Engagement and Support: Engage, support, and challenge business leaders on identifying important business functions and needs to support roadmap to compliance and beyond.
  • Audit and Compliance: Plan and coordinate audit requirements for outsourced 3rd party services in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and submit documents and evidence for audit requirements as they arise.
  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver short training sessions to embed awareness and understanding of our operational resilience strategy.
  • Framework Review: Facilitate the annual review of the Operational Resilience framework in line with regulatory requirements, including a review of the Operational Resilience Policy.
  • Risk Management: Provide monthly and quarterly risk metrics to the COO and own and manage risks identified for Operational Resilience.

Requirements:

  • Operational Resilience Experience: Background and experience in implementing operational resilience or business continuity regulatory improvements.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of FCA regulations and other legislation as they relate to Operational Resilience.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in and capable of understanding the complex interrelationship and dependency of integrated IT systems.
  • Project Management: Comfortable delivering projects, determining appropriate reporting and procedures as needed.
  • Risk Assessment: Experience in risk assessments, identifying and quantifying risks, testing risk controls.
  • Investigation Skills: Tenacity to investigate areas of concern across all business functions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong reporting skills, able to present and communicate in required settings.
  • Relationship Building: Good at cultivating relationships with stakeholders, building trust that facilitates an open mindset and free exchange of information.
