About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Support Manager to join our team at Acorn Insurance & Financial Services LTD. As a key member of our operational resilience team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of our business services and functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain our Operational Resilience framework, ensuring it is fully embedded across the organization.
  • Collaborate with functional business areas to identify, map, and set impact tolerances for all Important Business Services.
  • Conduct Quality Investigations to improve performance and reduce risk, aligning with Quality Management System requirements and governing regulations.
  • Liaise with IBS owners to develop effective Operational Resilience and Business Continuity plans.
  • Engage with business leaders to identify important business functions and needs, supporting roadmap to compliance and beyond.
  • Support the COO in aligning Operational Resilience and Business Continuity planning with operational goals, timelines, and capabilities.
  • Plan and coordinate audit requirements for outsourced 3rd party services, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit documents and evidence for audit requirements.
  • Secure engagement from company SMEs/IBS owners and other participants.
  • Oversee and support the delivery of scenario testing, articulating results to senior stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver training sessions to embed awareness and understanding of our operational resilience strategy.
  • Facilitate the review of Operational Resilience framework, including the Operational Resilience Policy, annually.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly risk metrics to the COO and manage identified Operational Resilience risks.
Requirements
  • Background and experience in implementing operational resilience or business continuity regulatory improvements.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations and other legislation as they relate to Operational Resilience.
  • Experience in a similar role in a highly technical, data-driven environment.
  • Ability to understand complex inter relationships and dependencies of integrated IT systems.
  • Experience with OpRes implementation in on-premise, cloud-based/SAAS, PAAS solutions.
  • Strong project delivery skills, including reporting and procedures.
  • Experience in risk assessments, identifying and quantifying risks, testing risk controls.
  • Tenacity to investigate areas of concern across all business functions.
  • Strong reporting skills, able to present and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders, building trust and facilitating open communication.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience managing an Operational Resilience/Risk/BCM function, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Good working knowledge of resilience industry standards: (BCM) ISO22301, (Tech/Res/DR) ISO27031, (Crisis Management) BS11200, (Organisational Resilience) ISO22316.
