We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team on a bank contract basis. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work with learners with a learning disability and other needs, providing communication and swallowing interventions in a modern and purpose-built college setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with learners, college staff, and the LD Community team to deliver high-quality services. You will have the autonomy to work independently, assessing, diagnosing, and intervening to support individuals with complex communication needs.
Main Responsibilities- Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced skills in dealing with complex clinical issues, ensuring effective caseload management and delivering evidence-based practice.
- Assessment and Intervention: Provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and intervention approaches for individuals with communication and eating/drinking needs.
- Carer Support: Empower and enable carers to facilitate communication skills in adults with learning disabilities.
- Advice and Guidance: Offer expert advice to colleagues regarding the support of adults with learning disabilities with communication and/or eating/drinking needs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure quality, safety, and risk reduction in service delivery through the use of evidence-based practice.
- Reporting: Produce written reports summarizing needs, proposed intervention plans, and future recommendations.
