Artificial Intelligence Specialist

We are expanding access to genomic technology to achieve health equity for billions of people worldwide. Our efforts enable life-changing discoveries that are transforming human health through early disease detection and diagnosis, as well as new treatment options for patients.
This role requires a world-class machine learning scientist to develop novel deep learning algorithms for deciphering the effects of genetic variants in the human genome. The position involves leading scientific collaborations with academic, nonprofit, and industry partners, as well as working with a multidisciplinary team to achieve these aims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop novel deep learning algorithms for deciphering the human genetic code.
- Lead scientific collaborations with Illumina's partners.
- Publish methods and findings, incorporating them into software products for the wider genetics community.
Requirements:
- Expertise in deep learning, statistics, proteinomics, and/or genomics.
- Strong communication skills to present complex ideas to clinical, scientific, and industry audiences.
- A strong record of delivering complex scientific projects and publications under tight timelines.
Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:
- MD or PhD in computer science, genetics, computational biology, or related field.
Estimated Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
