Artificial Intelligence Engineer for Genomic Data

We are seeking a highly skilled Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our team at Illumina, Inc. in Cambridge, UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of novel deep learning algorithms for deciphering the human genetic code.

The successful candidate will have expertise in deep learning, statistics, proteinomics, and/or genomics, as well as strong communication skills to present complex scientific ideas to clinical, scientific, and industry audiences.

As an AI Engineer, you will lead the development of novel deep learning methods for diagnosing pathogenic genetic variants by combining information from detailed clinical phenotypes and medical records, protein structures, and genomic data.

This role requires strong initiative, autonomy, and scientific collaboration, with opportunities to publish and disseminate methods and findings and incorporate them into software products to benefit the wider genetics community.

Our estimated salary for this position is around £120,000 per annum, based on national averages in the UK for a similar role.
