About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Yard Operative to join our team at our Carlisle Depot. As a Yard Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our depot, including maintaining a clean and safe working environment, managing bin stock, and driving our LGV 2 vehicles to cover holiday and sickness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for keeping the yard clean and tidy, including sweeping and litter picking.
  • Manage bin stock, including cleaning, repairing, and sorting bins.
  • Drive our LGV 2 vehicles to cover holiday and sickness.
  • Provide site operational requirements by dispensing duties as described by the Site Supervisor.
Requirements
  • You must remain aware at all times of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety, for the Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you, your work colleagues, and any others who may be affected by the operations under your responsibility or control.
  • You must adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures, including those specified in the Employment Handbook, H&S Policy, EMS System, IMS System, Management Guide, and any financial/accounting systems.
  • Apart from the duties summarised in your Role Profile, the company reserve the right to include other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work.
