Museum Project Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled project manager to oversee the planning and execution of exhibitions, gallery installations, and special projects at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Coordinate traveling exhibitions, including drafting tour prospectuses, executing contracts, and managing relationships with exhibition partners, venues, artists, and consultants.
  • Schedule and lead planning meetings with project teams to foster collaboration and communication.

You will also be responsible for helping manage the museum's day-to-day exhibition planning calendars, prioritizing gallery rotations, exhibitions, art moves, and special projects while coordinating with cross-departmental teams.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in project management, meeting deadlines with multiple dependencies and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and diplomatically with diverse personalities.
  • Experience with project budgeting and financial analysis, including knowledge of current museum best practices.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with Asana, The Museum System (TMS), Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, and SharePoint.
Benefits and Compensation

This full-time, exempt position offers a competitive salary of $49,400, working 35 hours per week. The position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit and reports to the Director of Exhibition Planning. You will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, paid vacation, personal days, sick days, and holidays.
