Behavioral Support Associate

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Program Development Specialist to join our team at Chicago Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) programs to promote positive student behavior and academic achievement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement PBIS programs to promote positive student behavior and academic achievement.
- Collaborate with administration to develop advisory curriculum in conjunction with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives.
- Deliver staff development training on PBIS and SEL programs to ensure effective implementation and support.
- Develop and implement peer mediation councils to foster conflict resolution skills among students.
- Monitor student attendance patterns and track absences to inform targeted interventions.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Manage morning student entrance procedures to ensure a smooth and safe start to the school day.
- Conduct regular hall sweeps and classroom walk-throughs to promote positive behavior and academic engagement.
- Oversee cafeteria operations during lunch and events to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Requirements:
- A college degree in Public Administration, Education, or a related Human Services field.
- Previous experience working in a school setting or with adolescents.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of students and the school community.
- Experience with Guided Discipline and PBIS approaches to student support.
