Fire Risk Management Specialist

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Fire Risk Management Specialist to join our team of experts specialising in Fire Safety and Engineering Services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, nuclear, and many more.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fire risk management strategies, incorporating advanced fire and evacuation modelling, risk analysis, and cost benefit analysis.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Produce high-quality fire safety engineering reports.
  • Review and verify design information, including drawings and documents, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with client expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Resolve complex fire engineering concerns by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
  • Support junior members of staff in their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (Fire, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or similar) from a reputable institution.
  • Extensive experience of providing fire safety advice in the nuclear sector and conventional environments.
  • Proven track record of implementing fire science principles to real-world projects.
  • Experience of managing fire safety on construction sites.
  • Full UK Driving License for frequent travel within the UK and overseas.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software and smoke modelling tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the UK and overseas.
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulations, national, and international standards relevant to fire safety.
  • Knowledge of Fire Water Network and Fire water pumping systems including fire water pumps, storage tanks, etc.
