About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Hospital Director to join our team at Thornford Park, a 141-bedded independent hospital providing medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services.

As a Deputy Hospital Director, you will play a key role in supporting the Hospital Director in leading the service, managing clinical and non-clinical teams, and being the Clinical Lead for Quality and Compliance.

You will have previous experience of project management, managing Clinical and Operational functions of the hospital, and deputising for the Hospital Director in internal and external meetings with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Hospital Director in leading the service and managing clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Be the Clinical Lead for Quality and Compliance
  • Manage Clinical and Operational functions of the hospital
  • Deputise for the Hospital Director in internal and external meetings
  • Support the development and provision of a high-quality and bespoke pathway of care for service users

Requirements

  • Professional registration is desirable but not essential (e.g., Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work)
  • Multiple years of senior management experience in a Mental Health setting
  • Management/leadership training and a willingness to complete our internal leadership training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing Clinical and Operational teams and creating a positive working environment
  • Able to deal with multiple issues simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment
  • Awareness of the wider Healthcare economy and political environment
  • A detailed understanding of statutory regulations
  • Able to oversee and deliver site projects
  • Experience in a mental health setting, knowledge of regulatory processes, and the CQC
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legislation related to the patient group
  • Audit and Compliance experience within a clinical setting
