Senior Cloud Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

About the Job

This role involves building and enhancing engineering and technical relationships with internal and external customers. You will be responsible for providing proactive service in all aspects of enhanced service delivery and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • You will act as a technical lead within nominated customer accounts for both internal and external requirements.
  • You will mentor and coach internal resources to achieve a higher level of service.
  • You will train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions related to On-prem and Microsoft Azure.
  • You will maintain awareness of all customer incidents and report where necessary on nominated accounts.
  • You will add value by highlighting trends, security threats, or technical bulletins that may impact customers.
  • You will be responsible for all documentation and technical information relating to customer networks.
  • You will adhere to internal and external processes, task allocation, completion, reporting, and change.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience in supporting Enterprise Grade Data Centre (DC) and Cloud Infrastructure, and Cloud-based Networks.
  • Technically apt across Cloud / Focal Engineering / On-prem cloud / Azure.
  • An excellent work ethic and a strong sense of pride and ownership.
  • Remains hands-on with relevant technology across the Cloud world.
  • Built trust and can collaboratively work with internal, external stakeholders, and customers including the Engineering team.
  • A passion for knowledge sharing.
  • Strives for continuous improvement, delivers, and supports new processes and directions.
  • Customer-facing and likes to be challenged/challenge ideas where required.
  • A positive and supportive attitude.
Skills and Qualifications
  • VCIX - VMWare Certified Implementation Expert - Network Virtualization (desirable).
  • VCP - VMWare Certified Professional 6 - Data Centre Virtualization (required).
  • VCP - VMWare Certified Professional 6.1 - Network Virtualization (required).

The Role Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a company car allowance scheme, 34 days holiday, including public bank holidays, plus the option to buy or sell five days each year, and a company matched pension scheme up to 6% contribution matched.
