Job Title: Mental Healthcare Assistant

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in mental health care? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Healthcare Assistant to join our team at a 23-bed rehabilitation service in Bury St Edmunds.

Job Summary:

As a Mental Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred care and therapeutic interventions to women with Personality Disorders and other mental health challenges. You will work across two wards, delivering support and guidance to help residents on their journey towards recovery and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to women with Personality Disorders, including Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).
  • Implement individualised care plans and therapeutic interventions.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, medication management, and meal preparation.
  • Facilitate group activities, therapy sessions, and recreational outings.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and occupational therapists.
  • Maintain accurate records of observations and interventions.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in mental health or rehabilitation settings, particularly with Personality Disorders or EUPD, is highly desirable.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to meet scheduled commitments.
  • Compassionate, non-judgemental approach to supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and autonomy for all residents.
  • Car Driver would be beneficial due to service location.
