Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Billing and Collections Specialist to join our team at Care New England Health System. As a key member of our Accounts Receivable team, you will be responsible for facilitating the billing process, submitting claims to payers, and following up on current and past due accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and resolve incomplete data elements identified on discrepancy reports required for billing.
  • Review bills for accuracy of charges, diagnosis, procedure codes, and insurance information, and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
  • Follow procedures regarding rebilling functions for late charges and adjustments.
  • Responsible for following up on current and past due accounts to ensure timely resolution.
  • Inform supervisor of denial trends and/or negative factors impacting the accounts receivable.
  • Maintain knowledge of updates and new procedures, benefit plans for third-party payers, and governmental plans.

Requirements:

  • High school degree required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years related experience in healthcare or accounts receivable.
  • Knowledge of third-party payers, medical terminology, word processing, statistical tools, and computer applications highly desirable.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
