Automotive Quality Manager Role

As a key member of our team at Jacob Thomas Associates, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our extrusion plants. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement, promoting safe practices, and maintaining exceptional housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and direct all aspects of quality on site, ensuring seamless integration with our operations team.
  • Develop and implement automotive quality standards across our extrusion plants, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Liaise with our OPEX and other plants to promote best practices, driving consistency and efficiency.
  • Attend EE Quality meetings and conduct cross-audits at other sites to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Design and implement process flowsheets, plant layouts, material handling systems, and equipment procurement to optimize quality outcomes.
  • Evaluate current and potential processing methods to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, recommending corrective actions to the operations team.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly quality reports, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, coaching, mentoring, supervising, and leading direct reports to achieve quality objectives.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, adhering to industry regulations and company policies.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in quality assurance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex quality assurance principles effectively.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and the ability to convey quality assurance principles and practices to stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in managing and motivating a team within a production environment, with a proven track record of leadership and development.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff at all levels, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive quality processes and documentation, with experience in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and change management.
  • Lean Six Sigma or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in a related field, such as quality assurance or business management.
  • A Master's degree in quality assurance or business management, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business administration, engineering, or quality management.
