Fleet and Compliance Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet and Compliance Operations Manager to join our team at Enva. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, legally compliant, and efficient day-to-day management of our fleet. Your primary focus will be on delivering cost-effective solutions for fleet maintenance while maintaining full compliance with our Operator Licence obligations and commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the company's fleet maintenance and administration of vehicle maintenance documentation systems, taking reasonable cost-cutting measures for fleet maintenance.
  • Assist the Transport Manager in managing all aspects of the company Operator licence, including being named as a transport manager on the Operator Licence.
  • Ensure that all DVSA compliance standards as well as our company's compliance standards are always adhered to, including timely scheduling for PMI, MOT, drivers' routine checks.
  • Investigate any missing mileage from Tachograph reports (Monthly Reporting on Vehicle Compliance - PMI/Tacho/MOT/LOLER).
  • Plan and schedule vehicle service, MOT, other defect maintenance, pressure tests, LOLER inspections, and other related proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure all incidents and accidents reported are fully investigated and actions taken as necessary via the Driver Operation Supervisor team.
  • Manage vehicle accidents and work with our current insurers.
  • Daily monitoring of relevant KPIs, attend monthly meetings, and produce performance reports of equipment and processes, including volumes, downtime, and staff performance, together with cost and revenue items.
  • Utilise external contractors and internal resources to complete defects and maintenance in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Improve operations and efficiency via constant improvement, research, and development.
  • Conduct team toolbox talks on specified topics.
  • Keep accurate compliance records and ensure successful completion of audits.
Requirements:
  • HGV Class 1 or Class 2.
  • CPC International Operators Licence (Haulage).
  • Experience of FORS Accreditation.
  • Compliance Management experience in transport.
  • Good knowledge of Transport and Driver Regulations.
  • Clearly able to demonstrate experience of implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve service and efficiency, while reducing costs.
  • Proactive and safety-focused approach.
  • Hands-on and methodical, organised with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good people development and mentoring skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department.
  • Highly focused on delivering results and objectives with a strong personal commitment to supporting the business in achieving its goals in a changing environment.
  • Logical in approach with the ability to analyse data and formulate action plans.
  • Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions – should be transparent, open, and honest in all dealings.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel.
Desirable:
  • Experience working within the waste industry, most desirable, however, alternate industries with relevant experience will be considered.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience of tankers/pipework and pumps.
