As an Alcohol Care Team Nurse, you will play a vital role in assessing patients who misuse alcohol and advising Trust staff on the care and management of acute alcohol-related issues and care plans.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assess patients who misuse alcohol and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
- Collaborate with Trust staff to provide effective care and management of acute alcohol-related issues.
- Participate in the development and delivery of education programs for Trust staff in the specialty of alcohol misuse.
- Support a caseload of individual patients who are not engaging in community services, resulting in hospital admission and frequent attendance at Trust services.
- Develop strong professional relationships with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Person Specification:
- Essential Qualifications:
- RMN or RGN at degree level (or equivalent) with Current NMC Registration
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Management studies qualification or equivalent
- Alcohol studies qualification
- Essential Experience:
- Awareness of the need for a multi-agency approach to care planning for patients who abuse alcohol
- Desirable Experience:
- Experience of working in the substance and alcohol use sector
- Experience in multi-agency working and training
- Essential Knowledge:
- Clinical knowledge of substance use and alcohol withdrawal
- Desirable Knowledge:
- Evidence of ongoing training and practices in the field of substance use and public health prevention
- Essential Skills:
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Desirable Skills:
- Ability to work in partnership with other agencies
