Job Title: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading manufacturer in the Wellingborough area. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the company's plant machinery and facilities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all plant machinery to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Oversee and carry out necessary building maintenance ensuring a safe and functional working environment.
  • Liaise with external contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and installation of new machinery and building services, ensuring work is carried out to high standards and in line with safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and facility issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems to minimize impact on production.
  • Implement and adhere to all health and safety policies, ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe manner and all statutory compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, ensuring that maintenance logs and reports are up to date.
  • Work closely with the operations and production teams to schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing processes.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement within maintenance processes and propose initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Person Specification:
  • An apprenticeship, with a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role.
  • Strong multiskilled background, including both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Electrical knowledge, with 18th Edition certification.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and Inverter Drives.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics (approximately 60% of work is mechanical).
Hours of Work and Pay:

Up to £38,000.

Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm.

You will be expected to work one Saturday a month 6am to 11am.
