Main Responsibilities

\

This exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and motivated Diagnostic Imaging Specialists to join our friendly radiology team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality images that meet diagnostic standards, working closely with patients to ensure their comfort and well-being throughout the imaging process.

You will be expected to participate in the radiographer shift rota and out of hours duties on both sites at the Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing images of diagnostic quality, properly identified with regard to patient's name, side examined, date of examination etc., in line with trust and departmental protocols.\
  • Being adequately trained in the safe and competent use of equipment prior to operating it.\
  • Fully competent in the operation of all appropriate imaging equipment.\
  • Using knowledge and skill to adapt your radiographic technique for complicated cases.\
  • Responsible for the welfare and comfort of patients in the department.\
  • Assisting with the training and supervision of student radiographers, assistant practitioners, and radiographic assistants.\
  • Participating in the departments radiographer shift rota and out of hours rota to provide 24/7 radiology cover.\

Requirements

\

To be successful as a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will need to possess a BSc in Radiography or equivalent, be HCPC registered, and have expertise in general radiography. A good working knowledge of radiographic techniques and excellent patient care skills are also essential. Commitment to working as part of the radiographer shift rota over 7 days is required.
