Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Design Consultant to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality functional and visual models and prototypes to our design studio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Making: Produce parts manually from drawings, finish CNC machined parts or outsourced rapid prototyped parts, and set up and support SLA and FDM machines.
- Tooling and Casting: Create Silicone tools and operate vacuum casting machinery to produce high-quality resin castings.
- Finishing and Metrology: Apply spray finishes to parts with color and texture matching, and use metrology equipment to ensure adherence to specified tolerances.
- Assembly and Quality Control: Assemble parts into finished models and ensure compliance with PDD's quality system.
- General Support: Support the maintenance and general upkeep of the Development Centre, and despatch models in secure packaging.
Requirements:
- Model Making Skills: Excellent hand model-making skills and experience with 3D CAD software.
- Technical Skills: Direct NC programming of lathe, competency on a laser cutter, and competency in 3D printing.
- Soft Skills: Numeracy, inter-personal skills, organisational skills, and creative thinking and problem-solving.
