About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team at Priority Childcare. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Home Manager to achieve compliance with regulatory frameworks and organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Home Manager in leading the care teams and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to young people.
  • Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence and provide leadership and guidance to the care teams.
  • Participate in the company's out-of-hours service and provide support to the care teams as needed.
  • Support the staff teams with the transition of residents in and out of the homes.
  • Help to coordinate the homes' recruitment process and lead interviews for new staff.
  • Act as a mentor to new staff and coordinate their induction into the homes.
  • Support the supervision of all staff and report on compliance.
Requirements
  • Completed or working towards a QCF Level 4/5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • A good understanding of the Positive Behaviour Support framework and the Active Support model.
  • Experience of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.
  • Experience of leading a team of staff who support people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.
  • Ability to work independently, meet targets, and supervise staff.
  • Awareness of new developments/standards/best practice in the sector.
