About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities or illnesses, including assistance with daily living tasks and activities.

• Assist with household chores and general homemaking, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.

• Support and/or prompt individuals to attend appointments, hospital visits, and other important events.

• Assist with food shopping and meal preparation, ensuring a healthy and balanced diet.

• Provide transportation to and from school, work, college, social activities, and other destinations, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.

• Support and/or prompt individuals to access sporting and leisure activities, promoting physical and mental well-being.

• Develop a good and trusting working relationship with individuals, providing emotional support and encouragement.

• Assist with managing paperwork and correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate communication.

• Perform other duties as reasonably required, adapting to changing needs and circumstances.

Requirements
• Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual, maintaining confidentiality and respecting individual privacy.

• Work on own initiative, using good judgment and decision-making skills.

• Work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and other stakeholders.

• Be patient, supportive, and caring, providing non-judgmental emotional support.

• Have good listening skills, empathizing with individuals and their needs.

• Previous caring experience is not essential, but a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities or illnesses is required.

• Flexibility is an advantage, as hours may be variable.

• Have a lively personality, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.

Transport Requirements
• Car driver and car owner, with business insurance.

Additional Information
• The individual's needs may vary from day to day, and tasks may reflect this.

• You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately, and to report defects and/or hazards that may give rise to an accident.

• You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times, adhering to health and safety protocols.

• Due to the nature of the work, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure, with costs covered by the employer.
