Clinical Lead for Intellectual Disability Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health care to adults with intellectual disabilities.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in working with adults with intellectual disabilities. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a clinical caseload of patients with complex needs, including those with mental illness, epilepsy, or neuropsychiatric conditions.
- Provide professional supervision and appraisal to junior medical staff, ensuring they operate within the parameters of the New Junior Doctor Contract 2016 and are Working Time Directive compliant.
- Participate in service and business planning activities, contributing to the development of our intellectual disability services.
- Attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of our internal CPD programme.
- Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
